Online Learning
“Self-education is, I firmly believe, the only kind of education there is." – Isaac Asimov
The Internet has always been a great place to learn; from football scores to choreographed dancing in Thai prisons and the filmography of Steve Guttenberg. It’s all at the touch of our fingertips. Now however, some of the world’s foremost and exclusive institutions of higher learning have become just as accessible...
Grab me, don’t click me!
Snaggable, grabable, widgets and gadgets… whatever you want to name them. Distributing content from an ad without the need to click is becoming increasingly popular.
As click through rates continue to fall and destination websites are being slowly replaced with profile pages, the need to get your content or message into the spaces people are, rather than push them to where you are is an ever growing must!...
Hung, Drawn and Slaughtered
You may or may not be wondering why there are some odd pictures hanging in the design department?

For your amusement this months theme was "Caricatures"

Convergence
Technological convergence is the idea that eventually all the gadgetry a consumer wishes to carry will be contained in one device. This magical box of tricks will be THE thing you never leave the house without, and the mobile is eager to be the device of choice, but it's got a long way to go...
dailylit.com
After realising that there are an embarrassing number of classic books that I have never read I have subscribed to www.dailylit.com. I pick one of the books they have on offer and they email me the chapters every other day at a time of my choosing. I don’t have to carry heavy books with me to work, and some of the titles are free which is always handy in these credit crunching times!
I’m about to get started on Moby Dick. War and Peace next I think.
